Our Texas residents may find it interesting to learn that recently a judicial officer signed all the necessary legal documents finalizing the divorce between reality TV star Kris Jenner, popularly known as Kristen Kardashian and her husband Bruce Jenner. The couple was married for nearly 24 years before ending their marriage recently.

Prior to the filing of divorce paperwork, the couple has official been living separate since summer of 2013. Despite being a high asset couple, when they married in 1991 they did not enter a prenuptial agreement. According to reports, under the current terms of the divorce, neither of them will get an alimony also known as spousal support. Additionally, Kardashian family matriarch, Kris, is expected to hold on to the family homestead. However, her soon to be ex-spouse will receive an equalization payment of nearly 2.5 million dollars.

With respect to the division of other property such as artwork, furniture and appliance the couple divided it between themselves. Regarding child custody and child support, the couple have still have an un-emancipated 17-year-old daughter. Per court documents, both Kris and Bruce will share joint legal custody of their daughter. However, they agreed that neither will pay child support for the 17-year-old.

According to reports there was no animosity between the couple and the matter was resolved as amicably as possibly. Though the divorce has been finalized, the couple will not officially be considered divorced until March of 2015 due to the six month legal requirement. Regardless of one’s celebrity status divorce can happen to anyone. The process can be daunting, confusing and may get complex quickly particularly when minor children and assets are involved. Consulting with a family law attorney may be helpful and may bring peace of mind during a stressful time.
